Height and Set Back Rules

by welkamro

Of course, every exhibitor on any given event would like to build as high as possible, to make at least his logo visible from everywhere. Unfortunately, there are very seldom venues, where exhibitors are free to build as high as they wish. Organizers try to avoid, that big exhibitors with big budgets are over dominant and thus help smaller stands to make an appropriate appeal, even with smaller budgets.

Sometimes the maximum allowed height is categorized by size of stand area.
I.e. up to 36sqm stand area, maxH=3m – up to 90sqm, maxH=4.5m and bigger stands have a maxH of 6m. This gives the large stands a chance to stand out a bit more, but still confines the heights within the categories.
Also the allowed construction heights are sometimes not the same within one stand area. Organizers try to prevent, that aisles get clogged up by booths building up to the full height right at the aisles. The maximum allowed height within the first meter from the aisles or the neighbor would be significantly less, than the max. height in the center of the booth. This also helps visitors, browsing the aisles, to see farther, when they look for a certain company.
For every exhibition or trade show or event, these regulations are different.
It is therefore very important to check the manual in regards to these regulations, when starting the planning of a booth. In general, these rules are enforced by the organizers and a design change on site because of not complying with these rules will bear costs for the exhibitor, which can be avoided so easily, if the show manual is consulted in advance.
